Hello angel,
I actually can't believe it has taken me this long to write a blog post for The Endless Weekend. That is the thing about running a small business there are a million and one things to do (FYI I am no longer referring to my business as a small business this year, we are manifesting greatness and speaking into existence what we intend to accomplish this year) so it can be challenging to know what to prioritise.
The Endless Weekend has been in operation for over a year now, so I really want to prioritise us getting to know each other better so I intend to be putting my thoughts to paper more often, keeping you updated on all things TEW, what we are working on, and also be prepared for some Iyanla/Gemma Collins style motivational spiel. I KNOW IYANLA AND THE GC are opposite ends of the spectrum but that is literally the best way to describe what goes on in my brain. Some days very deep and thought provoking, some days just say it how it is.
As we are getting to know each other better, let me tell you a few things about TEW/me:
1. The phrase 'The Endless Weekend' is legit my dream! To create a life so fulfilling and rewarding that my life feels like an endless weekend. As someone who has worked in a corporate environment since uni, I really really know the feeling of counting down the days to the weekend. So the dream is to bottle up that feeling of freedom at the weekend and live it everyday!
2. Why is it small business owners refer to themselves as we? I am so guilty of doing that, I am going to let you in on a little secret there is no we behind TEW currently. It is just me! CEO, founder, social media expert (LOL), marketing manager, HR and finance and all things in between. The plan is for that to change eventually, it is another dream of mine to have a team working with me. One of my fave African Proverbs and one I don't burst a brain cell trying to understand is ' if you want to go fast go alone, but if you want to go far go together'.
3. I LOVE LOVE LOVE to write, it is like my sixth sense it is just part of who I am. It is so funny, I didn't realise it was a purpose of mine because it is something I just naturally did whenever I experienced any kind of situation -good and bad. Ooof if i am going through some thangs (namely heartbreak) just call me Adele because I am going to put down some words. See that's the thing about purpose, I think we are in a society that makes finding your purpose sound like some insurmountable feat and often we are made to feel guilty for not knowing what it is. Here is some food for thought for those of you who are staring down the 'WHAT IS MY PURPOSE RABBITHOLE, maybe your purpose is in the everyday, something you do naturally that you overlook, it's your go to when you are feeling a bit stressed or stuck, it is what God gifted you with that makes you, you.
Right I am going to wrap this up now. Have a truly fabulous week, and if you find yourself counting down the days until the weekend, I am going to give you some homework, start to ask yourself in an ideal world what does the endless weekend look like to you?
A x
